I do outreach in the name of science via video popular science book reviews and quirky science experiments using candy, cookies, cats and cosmetics.
I used to teach upper level histology and cell biology laboratory courses at the University of Illinois and recently moved to teaching certified teachers who wish to get their Masters of Science in the Teaching of Biology in an online environment. I taught a course on the Human Genome and Bioinformatics and am designing one on Evolution and Human Health.
I've been hired to do voiceover and video work for science education and industry. The modeling career I dropped so I could pursue science has come in quite handy lately!
I have four great kids! The oldest is a junior studying atmospheric sciences at U of I and his sister will be studying physics at a university this coming fall. The other two are still undecided which field of science they will be pursuing! Of course I'm joking. Whatever they decide will be just fine with me.
